Merry Christmas to you and your family! I hope you are ready for a joy-filled holiday as we celebrate Jesus.
For our family, we are expectantly waiting for the birth of our first grandchild, Olivia June. For months we have been praying for her, as well as, Jamie and Cameron. We have prayed for her health. We have prayed for her physical and spiritual development. We have prayed for her to accept Jesus one day and to be a person of character and integrity. We have prayed for Jamie and Cameron to be parents of unconditional love, joy and to be filled with patience.
With so many prayers surrounding her birth, when we hold her, it will seem as we already know her.
I imagine it was the same that first Christmas as Mary and Joseph held Jesus. For nine months, He was their expected-one and for generations, He was the Long-Expected-One for the world. Their prayers, as well as, the prayers of the multitudes were now cradled in their arms on that first Christmas morning. The Bible says, “Mary treasured up all of these things and pondered them in her heart” Luke 2:19
This Christmas, what are we praying for? Are we praying with such fervency that when our prayers are answered, we will welcome them as we already know them? Will we hold those answered prayers as treasured gifts of a loving Father? I hope so!
I love you,
PS: I will be speaking a special Christmas Eve message to children about their blessing to the world. Please come and bring the kids and grandkids. I would love to see them and give them a gift from my heart.
